Connect to an Instance Through an Access Profile
Instances in Thinfinity® Workspace Cloud Manager are objects used to control and manage deployed virtual machines. Each instance represents a cloud-based VM. To use instances within Thinfinity® Workspace, each one must be linked to an Access Profile.
What Is an Access Profile
In a cloud environment, an Access Profile allows an end user to access and utilize a VM or an instance abstracting them from the underlying technical complexities. It provides a personalized desktop experience without requiring the user to have any knowledge of the virtual infrastructure. In this guide, we will explore the creation of Access Profiles that will allow end users to connect to managed VMs and VDI models.
Info
Refer to Understanding Access Profiles for more information about Access Profiles and how they work.
Starting the Wizard
Select Connection Details
The next step of the wizard allows you to set the connection details.
If you selected to connect to a Managed VM, the next step of the wizard is displayed as shown below:

The model category and name are displayed.
By default, the system connects your profile to any available VMs following the selected load balancing and dynamic assignment options. To connect your profile to a particular instance, activate the Use Instance option. An additional field becomes available and you can select the desired instance.
Optionally, determine the delay (in minutes) before powering off the VM following disconnection. If working with broker pools, specify the broker pool that will handle the access to the current Access Profile, then click Next.
If you selected to connect to a VDI/DaaS model, the first step of the wizard is displayed as shown below:

The model category and name are displayed.
By default, the Production version of the selected VDI/DaaS model is used. To use a staging version, enable Use Staging. For details, see Model Versioning.
Optionally, determine the delay (in minutes) before powering off the machine following disconnection. If working with broker pools, specify the broker pool that will handle the access to the current Access Profile, then click Next.
Set the Authentication Options
In the next step of the wizard choose an authentication options then click Next.

Ask for new credentials
This is the default option. It requires the user to manually enter their host or domain credentials in a separate prompt before the session is established.
Use the authenticated credentials
The system automatically passes the same credentials the user provided to log in to the Thinfinity Workspace portal. This enables a seamless Single Sign-On (SSO) experience, provided the portal and host share the same identity source.
Use these credentials
The administrator provides a specific, static set of credentials for this profile. This is used for "Standardized Sessions" where users assume a pre-configured identity. If Dynamic Provisioning is enabled (Create if it doesn't exist), the system can programmatically create these accounts on the host if they do not already exist.
Configure the Permissions
In the next step of the wizard select the users and/or groups to whom you want to grant access to the selected VM.

Reference
For details on Access Rights, see the Permissions tab, in Access Control Settings section of the Thinfinity Workspace Product Manual.
Set the Access Profile Name and Icon
Enter a descriptive name for the access profile, customize the icon and click Next.
The wizard redirects you to the Access Profiles tab of the Configuration section of the Settings menu: a list of all Access Profiles defined in the system is presented.
Make sure to click Apply to implement the configured connection parameters.
For details on how to edit the details of an Access Profile, see RDC Access Profile.
