What is Cloud Manager

Cloud Manager is a feature that allows administrators to access, create and manage Virtual Machines (VMs) by hosting desktop environments on a centralized server. Cloud Manager supports provisioning, scaling, starting, stopping, and deallocating VMs hosted on renowned cloud platforms like Azure, AWS, GCP, IONOS, Oracle Cloud, Proxmox, VMware and HyperV, all accessible via the Thinfinity portal. Cloud Manager allows users to access their desktops on any device, regardless of the geographic location.

The main appeal of Cloud Manager is its ability to offer a controlled, customized, and secure desktop experience to multiple users while maintaining the data and applications on a company-managed server.

With Cloud Manager, sysadmins can effortlessly define VDI templates and orchestrations, create instances, and assign them to users either by creating profiles for free access or based on customizable scheduling preferences as needed.

For the average user, there are minimal differences between user profiles utilizing VMs (whether pre-provisioned or created on demand) and any other physical device they use to connect. This ensures a consistently user-friendly experience across various platforms.

Prerequisites

Cloud Provider Credentials

In order to start working with Cloud Manager you must own valid credentials supplied by our supported cloud providers, which are the following: Microsoft Azure, IONOS Cloud, Google Cloud Platform, AWS, Oracle Cloud, Proxmox, VMware and Hyper-V. Secure and valid credentials are essential, as cloud providers implement specific credential structures.

Install Thinfinity® Configuration Manager
