In a cloud environment, an access profile allows an end user to access and utilize a VM or an instance abstracting them from the underlying technical complexities. It provides a personalized desktop experience without requiring the user to have any knowledge of the virtual infrastructure. In this guide, we will explore the creation of access profiles that will allow end users to connect to managed VMs and VDI models.
To create an access profile, go to the Instances tab and select Create profile to initiate the Wizard.
Next, select connection details.
This PC
Connect to the PC where Thinfinity® Remote Workspace is installed.
Another PC
Connect to another PC.
Selecting Another PC displays a new set of connection options.
Managed VMs
Create an access profile for an existing VM.
VDI/DaaS Models
Create an access profile for a VDI model.
Select Managed VMs from the options list, next select the model your target VM belongs to.
To connect your profile to a particular instance, activate the Use Instance option. When this option is disabled, the system connects your profile to any available VM following the selected load balancing and dynamic assignation options.
3. Optionally, determine the delay (in minutes) before powering off the VM following disconnection, then click Next.
4. Choose an authentication option.
Use the authenticated credentials
The system will automatically use the Cloud credentials that you are currently logged in with.
Ask for new credentials
Prompts the end user to enter new credentials when accessing the profile.
Use these credentials
Input entirely new credentials for this profile. The system can create them if they don't exist.
Enter a descriptive name for the profile and click Done.
The wizard redirects you to the Home screen when the profile creation is done. Commit or Rollback the unsaved changes.
